October 4 is Angel Day in Japan! There are many references to angels throughout FINAL FANTASY – let’s take a look at a few!

Seraph (FFVI)

An angel-like esper. In its ability Angel Feathers, it ascends from the sky in a beam of healing light, restoring the HP of all allies. By equipping Seraph’s magicite while taking on enemies, one can acquire the magic healing spell Cura, which both uses less MP and is more powerful than Angel Feathers!

Ark Angels (FFXI)

Five heroes of legend, said in the lyrics of an old song to appear when “the great bane will devour the fair land of Vana'diel.” Also called “children of the crystals” and “Crystal Guardians,” they bear a striking resemblance to the five races living on Vana’diel – Hume, Elvaan, Tarutaru, Mithra and Galka.

The Angel of the Slums (FFVIIR)

A subquest that can be started by speaking to Damon in the Sector 5 undercity, when he asks Cloud and Aerith to find the true identity of the “Angel of the Slums” for an article he’s trying to write. The two begin questioning people around town, but will they be able to discover who exactly the Angel is?
